Day by Day Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Nairobi
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the evening you will be picked by our driver then transferred to Nairobi Serena Hotel hotel overlooking the famous Uhuru Park where you will stay overnight. Dinner and overnight at a Nairobi Serena hotel.
Day 2
Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, depart Nairobi and head north leaving the highlands, we drive down to dry scrublands of Northern Kenya and head towards Samburu National Reserve. The permanent water and forest shade on the banks of Ewaso Nyiro River attract plentiful wildlife from the region including elephant, cheetah, giraffe, oryx, vervet monkeys, zebra, and crocodiles. Leopards are usually spotted. This is one of the pleasantest parks in Kenya and is not too crowded. Arriving in time for lunch, and enjoy a late afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Lodge/similar lodge/Luxury Tented Camp.
Day 3
Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, morning game drive. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon game drive. Optional: You can visit local Samburu village. The Samburu people are close relatives of the Masai tribes men and share a lot of similarities as both depend on livestock for livelihood with nomadic lifestyles. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Lodge/similar lodge/Luxury Tented Camp.
Day 4
Samburu National Reserve to Sweetwaters Ol Pejeta
After breakfast depart, Samburu National Reserve and drive towards Nanyuki, for Sweetwaters Tented Camp just 30 kms from the turn off to Nanyuki town. En-route we cross the equator, which is very close to the second highest mountain in Africa, the snow capped Mount Kenya. Sweetwaters Tented Camp is located on a private game ranch and set on a 22,000-acre rhino and chimpanzee sanctuary on Ol Pejeta Ranch. Lunch at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. A late afternoon game drive where you may be able to see a variety of animals like rhino, buffalo, giraffe, and zebra and plains game. Optional: A night game drive is done before dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Camp.
Day 5
Sweetwaters Ol Pejeta to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, depart Sweetwaters Tented Camp for Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley passing through the arid lands and the highlands of Kenya. En-route game drive to Lake Nakuru Lodge/similar Lodge/Luxury Tented Camp for lunch. Afternoon game drive. The Lake Nakuru National Park, commonly referred to as the pink lake is also home to a huge colony of flamingo and the endangered black Rhino. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge/Similar Lodge/Luxury Tented Camp.
Day 6
Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru Lodge for Masai Mara National Reserve, Lunch at the Mara Sarova Tented Lodge. Masai Mara is located in the Great Rift Valley primary on the open grasslands. The reserve is the Jewel of Kenya Wildlife areas. After lunch proceed for a game drive in search of Rhino, black Manned Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffalo and others plains games. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sarova tented Lodge.
Day 7
Masai Mara National Reserve
This day is spent game viewing across the rich three studded grassland and rolling Hills. The famous Masai Mara is renowned for its great leads of plains game that abound in plenty. Optional: Visit the Masai village for a Cultural learning Experience or Balloon safari over the plains of Masai Mara to enjoy the vista. On landing you will be treated to a heart full champagne breakfast in the bush. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sarova Tented Lodge/Similar Lodge/Luxury Tented Camp.
Day 8
Masai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi
Early morning game drive on sunrise when predators are active with morning hunt of big cats. We will have an opportunity to capture a Lion making a Kill as most of the time Lions Kills very early in the morning before sunrise. We also experience the beauty of sunrise which reveals the back drop of Masai Mara which means the dotted hills in Maa Language. We later return to the lodge for main breakfast. After breakfast we depart Masai Mara with the last picturesque of the MARA arriving Nairobi late afternoon. You will be dropped at either your hotel or airport to continue with your journey to the next destination.
